i always hear a lot of ppl arguing on what is better - add speed or add dmg?

so i compiled a little tutorial for whose who are not afraid of little math.
sorry for my bad english and typos, any feedback is welcome

lets say your min damage is A and max dam is B (displayed on char screen, i hope
everyone know how to add 10% u get from dual wielding).

now lets say ure fighting monster who has X defense.

so u will be dealing min (A - X) and max (B - X) damage.

if u multiply these values from ur _total_ attack speed, u will get min and max amounts
of damage u can deal per fixed period of time.

if ure skilling multiply it by 2 + E/1000 (i hope u can do that too). here E - your amount of nrg (doesnt apply to MG)

ex. to make it clear:

lets say ur damage is 200-260. speed is 50.

if ure fighting balrog who has 160 def, u will be dealing 40 - 100 dmg.
multiply by speed:

min: 40 * 50 = 2000
max: 100 * 50 = 5000

u will be dealing somewere inbtween 2000 and 5000 damage.
if u have no +luck it would be (2000 + 5000) / 2 = 3500 avg dmg to balrog

lets say u increase ur speed by 12, but loose 20 dmg (both from min and max)

now dmg is 180 - 240, speed 62.
180 - 160 = 20
240 - 160 = 80

mult from speed:

min: 20 * 62 = 1240
max: 80 * 62 = 4960

u will be dealing somewere inbtween 1240 and 4960 damage.
again if no luck - (1240 + 4960)/2 = 3100 avg dmg to balrog

in this case u loose damage

now lets look at poison bull, it has 75 def:
again lets say ur damage is 200-260. speed is 50.

pb has 75 def, u will be dealing 125 - 195 dmg.
multiply by speed:

min: 125 * 50 = 6250
max: 235 * 50 = 9750

if u have no +luck it would be (6250 + 9750) / 2 = 8000 avg dmg to pb

again u increase ur speed by 12, but loose 20 dmg (both from min and max)

now dmg is 180 - 240, speed 62.
180 - 75 = 105
240 - 75 = 165

mult from speed:

min: 105 * 62 = 6510
max: 80 * 62 = 10230

again if no luck - (6510 + 10230)/2 = 8370 avg dmg to pb

this time u gain some damage because of ur speed.

the main idea is to do caclulation each time ur damage or speed changes,
(for each mob separately) and chose which weapons agains which mobs to use
using speedy weapons might pay off on low lvl mobs, while high dmg weaps are crucial for high lvl mobs.
mob defence is the main factor here

now some hardcore maths - lets take luck into cosideration
each +luck items adds 5% of critical damage = max damage

this means, that if u got 1 item with luck, u will hit mob critiacly once in 20 hits on avg.

so formula for avg damage looks like this:

((B - D) * L + ((A-D) + (B-D)) * (20 - L) / 2) * S / 20

here A - min damage
B - max damage
D - mobs defence
L - your number of items + luck (max 7 i think)
S - speed

again, skill damage isnt taken into consideration, i hope u can calc it yourself

lets look at first example with balrog:
lets say ur damage is 200-260. A = 200, B = 260
speed is 50. S = 50
balrogs def is 160 D = 160.

lets say u have 3 lucky items

((B - D) * L + ((A-D) + (B-D)) * (20 - L) / 2) * S / 20=
((260 - 160) * 3 + ((200 - 160) + (260 - 160)) * (20 - 3) / 2) * 50 / 20 =
(100 * 3 + (40 + 100) * 17 / 2 ) * 2.5 =
(300 + 1190) * 2.5 = 3725

whooa, u get 250 add dmg from 3 lucky items
